Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AKP05, also known as **IzzeK**, is a Damor Farmaceutici nutraceutical fixed-dose combination containing *Bacopa monnieri*, *Ginkgo biloba* leaf extract, green-tea leaf extract, and phosphatidylserine. It has been investigated in adults with uncontrolled hypertension and in hypertensive patients assessed for cognitive outcomes. In published human studies, AKP05 was associated with reduced blood pressure, improved endothelial function, increased nitric oxide release, improved exercise-capacity measures, and improved cognitive-test performance. Experimental mouse data attributed vascular effects to activation of the protein kinase C alpha/protein kinase B/endothelial nitric oxide synthase pathway and inhibition of NADPH oxidase, thereby increasing nitric oxide bioavailability and reducing oxidative stress.
