AL-37807 is a small molecule drug developed as an ophthalmic solution for the treatment of open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. It was originally developed by Alcon, which later became part of Novartis. The drug acts as a 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) receptor agonist, representing a novel mechanism among antiglaucoma agents. Its development reached Phase II clinical trials in the United States but was discontinued before approval. The primary aim was to lower intraocular pressure in patients with glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
