AL-59412C vehicle

AL-59412C vehicle is the inactive control formulation used in clinical trials of AL-59412C, an experimental intravitreal injection developed by Alcon Research. AL-59412C was designed as a sustained-release delivery system intended to lower intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. The vehicle formulation contains the same excipients and delivery matrix as the active drug product but lacks the active pharmaceutical ingredient (travoprost). It was utilized in Phase 2 proof-of-concept studies to establish a safety and efficacy baseline, allowing researchers to differentiate the effects of the active drug from those of the injection procedure and the delivery vehicle itself.
