Overview

AL0704rP is a recombinant allergen immunotherapy developed by Allergopharma for the treatment of allergic rhinoconjunctivitis caused by timothy grass pollen. It consists of a mixture of five recombinant major allergens from timothy grass (*Phleum pratense*): rPhl p 1, rPhl p 2, rPhl p 5a, rPhl p 5b, and rPhl p 6. The therapy aims to induce immunological tolerance by shifting the immune response from a Th2-dominated allergic profile to a Th1/Treg-mediated profile, thereby reducing symptoms upon natural allergen exposure. Despite reaching Phase 3 clinical trials (e.g., the AMETHYST study), development was discontinued by the developer in 2017 following a strategic decision to exit the recombinant allergen field.
