AL1311

AL1311 is a highly potent small molecule activator of NRF2 (Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2) in preclinical development for the treatment of autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). Unlike traditional electrophilic and reactive NRF2 activators, AL1311 works by disrupting the protein-protein interaction between NRF2 and its regulatory protein Keap1. This non-reactive mechanism is designed to provide greater specificity for NRF2 activation and potentially a better safety profile. Activation of NRF2 reduces oxidative stress and inflammation—key drivers in ADPKD pathogenesis—and has been shown to slow cyst growth and preserve kidney function in animal models.
