Overview

AL1311 is a highly potent small molecule activator of NRF2 (Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2) in preclinical development for the treatment of autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). Unlike traditional electrophilic and reactive NRF2 activators, AL1311 works by disrupting the protein-protein interaction between NRF2 and its regulatory protein Keap1. This non-reactive mechanism is designed to provide greater specificity for NRF2 activation and potentially a better safety profile. Activation of NRF2 reduces oxidative stress and inflammation—key drivers in ADPKD pathogenesis—and has been shown to slow cyst growth and preserve kidney function in animal models. The drug is being developed by AceLink Therapeutics[1][3][4].
