Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AL201-AB is a monoclonal antibody developed by AngioLab for the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration (wet AMD). It specifically targets vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1 (VEGFR1) and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2). By binding to these receptors, AL201-AB blocks the signaling pathways of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), which are critical drivers of pathological neovascularization and vascular leakage in the retina. This mechanism aims to inhibit the growth of abnormal blood vessels and reduce fluid accumulation in the eye, thereby preventing or slowing vision loss in patients with wet AMD.
