Overview

ALaCART (Immunophenotype-Adapted CAR T-Cell Therapy) is an investigational autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by the National University Hospital (NUH) in Singapore. It is specifically designed for patients with high-risk, relapsed, or refractory B-lineage acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). The unique feature of this therapy is its immunophenotype-adapted approach, which involves profiling the patient's leukemia cells to select the most appropriate CAR T-cell targets. This strategy may involve the use of multiple CARs (potentially targeting antigens such as CD19 and CD22) to address disease heterogeneity and prevent relapse caused by antigen escape. The therapy is currently being evaluated in a Phase I clinical trial to assess its safety and efficacy in both pediatric and adult populations.
