Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Alamin SE Injection is a specialized parenteral nutritional formulation developed and manufactured by Albert David. It is a sterile, non-pyrogenic aqueous solution containing a balanced mixture of 17 essential and non-essential amino acids (8% w/v), supplemented with electrolytes and sorbitol. The formulation is indicated for the prevention and treatment of nitrogen loss and negative nitrogen balance in patients where oral or enteral nutrition is inadequate, impossible, or contraindicated, such as in cases of severe trauma, major surgery, or gastrointestinal malabsorption. The inclusion of electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium, chloride, and acetate) helps maintain fluid and acid-base balance, while sorbitol serves as a non-glucose carbohydrate energy source to support metabolic requirements during parenteral therapy.
