Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Alamin SN is a parenteral nutrition supplement containing a balanced mixture of 18 pure crystalline amino acids, including eight essential amino acids. Manufactured by Albert David Limited, it is designed for intravenous administration to maintain a positive nitrogen balance and support protein synthesis in patients who cannot receive adequate oral or enteral nutrition. In clinical settings, Alamin SN is also utilized to induce nutrient-induced thermogenesis, which can help prevent peri-operative hypothermia and shivering, particularly during cesarean sections under spinal anesthesia. The solution provides the necessary substrates for cellular metabolism and energy expenditure without significantly increasing sympathoadrenal activity.
