Alaxan

Alaxan is an over-the-counter (OTC) fixed-dose combination analgesic developed and marketed by United International Pharma. It contains two active ingredients: Paracetamol (325 mg) and Ibuprofen (200 mg). Paracetamol acts as an analgesic and antipyretic by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system and elevating the pain threshold. Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that provides anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing the production of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins. Alaxan is primarily indicated for the management of mild to moderate musculoskeletal pain, including back pain, neck strain, sprains, and rheumatism, as well as headache, toothache, and menstrual pain.
