Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Albendazole + vitamin C is a non-standardized combination of two agents: albendazole, a broad-spectrum benzimidazole anthelmintic used to treat various helminth infections, and vitamin C (ascorbic acid), an essential nutrient with antioxidant properties. Albendazole acts by binding to the colchicine-sensitive site of tubulin in parasites, inhibiting microtubule polymerization and glucose uptake, leading to energy depletion and parasite death[2][6]. Vitamin C functions as an antioxidant and is involved in numerous physiological processes including immune function. There are no known clinically significant interactions between these two agents[1]. This combination does not represent a recognized pharmaceutical product or fixed-dose formulation but may be co-administered for specific clinical or research purposes.
