Overview

Albendazole + ivermectin is a combination of two antiparasitic medicines used primarily to treat various worm infections. Albendazole works by preventing worms from absorbing glucose, depleting their energy levels and leading to immobilization. Ivermectin acts on the parasite's nervous and muscular systems, causing paralysis. When administered together, these drugs work synergistically to immobilize and kill parasites more effectively than either drug alone. The combination is particularly effective against soil-transmitted helminth infections and lymphatic filariasis. It's available in various formulations, including orodispersible tablets that dissolve rapidly on the tongue.
