Albumin-bound docetaxel is a novel formulation of the taxane chemotherapeutic agent docetaxel, in which the drug is bound to human serum albumin nanoparticles. This formulation aims to improve solubility and reduce hypersensitivity reactions compared to conventional solvent-based formulations. The mechanism of action involves binding to and stabilizing tubulin, thereby inhibiting microtubule disassembly, resulting in cell-cycle arrest at the G2/M phase and subsequent cancer cell death. Albumin-bound docetaxel is being developed primarily for solid tumors including gastric cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, peritoneal cancer, adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and breast cancer. It has reached Phase III clinical trials for gastric and pancreatic cancers[4][8][2]. The main developers are CSPC ZhongQi Pharmaceutical Technology and Conjupro Biotherapeutics[4].
