Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Albutamol Neo is an oral fixed-dose combination bronchodilator therapy developed by Centaur Pharmaceuticals for the management of respiratory conditions, including asthma, chronic bronchitis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Formulated as a syrup, it combines salbutamol, a selective beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist, with etofylline, a xanthine derivative that acts as a phosphodiesterase inhibitor and adenosine receptor antagonist. Together, these active ingredients work synergistically to relax bronchial smooth muscle, widen the airways, and improve airflow, thereby relieving symptoms such as wheezing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath.
