Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination drug containing six active ingredients commonly used in the management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD): **albuterol**, **fluticasone**, **salmeterol**, **montelukast**, **budesonide**, and **formoterol**. - **Albuterol** is a short-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (SABA) that acts as a bronchodilator. - **Fluticasone** and **budesonide** are inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) that reduce airway inflammation. - **Salmeterol** and **formoterol** are long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonists (LABA) that maintain bronchial dilation. - **Montelukast** is a leukotriene receptor antagonist, reducing bronchoconstriction and airway inflammation via the cysteinyl leukotriene receptor. No commercial product containing all six agents simultaneously is known or studied; however, combinations of subsets of these agents are routinely used in clinical practice for enhanced asthma control[1][2][4][5][6].
