albuterol + glycopyrrolate

Albuterol + glycopyrrolate is a combination of two bronchodilator drugs used primarily for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), particularly during acute exacerbations. Albuterol is a short-acting beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist that relaxes bronchial smooth muscle, leading to rapid bronchodilation. Glycopyrrolate is an anticholinergic (muscarinic antagonist) that inhibits acetylcholine-mediated bronchoconstriction, providing additional bronchodilation through a complementary mechanism. Clinical studies have shown that this combination produces greater improvement in lung function (as measured by FEV1) than albuterol alone in patients with acute COPD exacerbations[1][3].
