The combination aims to rapidly reverse airflow obstruction (albuterol), optimize drug delivery and decrease work of breathing (heliox), and control underlying inflammation (methylprednisolone). This regimen may be reserved for patients with severe asthma exacerbations who do not respond adequately to standard therapy[5][6].
