A traditional Persian herbal combination consisting of the flower powders of Alcea digitata (also known as Althaea digitata) and Malva sylvestris. This preparation is primarily investigated by Iranian medical institutions for its mucosal protective, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. It is used to mitigate radiation-induced complications in cancer patients, such as xerostomia in head and neck cancer and proctitis in prostate cancer. The therapeutic effect is attributed to its high content of mucilage, polysaccharides, and flavonoids, which provide a physical barrier and reduce oxidative stress in irradiated tissues.
