Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Alcuflex is a pain management pharmaceutical product developed and marketed by Lucky Core Industries Limited (formerly ICI Pakistan), a Pakistani conglomerate. The active ingredient in Alcuflex is naproxen sodium, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by non-selectively inhibiting the enzymes cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), which are responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins that mediate inflammation, pain, and fever. Alcuflex is approved and launched in Pakistan for the management of acute pain and is part of Lucky Core's pharmaceutical portfolio, which includes various products in the pain and gastroenterology therapeutic areas.
