Overview

**ALD-201** is an autologous stem cell therapy derived from a unique population of bone marrow cells selected for high aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) activity, developed by Aldagen (a Cytomedix subsidiary) for ischemic heart failure. It functions as an **angiogenesis inducing agent** and **cell replacement** therapy, administered via intracoronary injection to promote blood flow restoration and improve cardiac function in patients with chronic ischaemic heart disorders. Phase I trials demonstrated safety and initial evidence of enhanced perfusion and clinical status improvement, but development was discontinued.[1][3][4][5]
