ALD-R4XX is a drug candidate developed by Aluda Pharmaceuticals, Inc., currently in the discovery phase. It is believed to be a small molecule that acts as a vimentin modulator. Vimentin is an intermediate filament protein implicated in various pathologies, including infection, hyperinflammation, immunosuppression, coagulopathy, and metabolic dysregulation. The drug is being investigated for its potential in treating severe infections with life-threatening immune dysregulation, such as sepsis, by blocking fibrotic progression, resolving non-responsive inflammation, and preventing endothelial or organ damage. Its closely related compound, ALD-R491, has demonstrated efficacy in preclinical models of sepsis by mitigating hyperinflammation, organ damage, and improving survival through vimentin targeting.
