ALECSAT is a cell-based immunotherapy developed to treat various cancers, including triple-negative breast cancer, glioblastoma multiforme, hormone-refractory prostate cancer, malignant melanoma, and pancreatic cancer. The therapy utilizes the patient's own immune system by supplementing and strengthening it with tumor-specific cytotoxic lymphocytes (CTLs) and natural killer (NK) cells that are designed to target and destroy tumor cells. ALECSAT is an autologous therapy—meaning it uses the patient’s own cells—which are collected, activated against tumor antigens ex vivo (outside the body), expanded in number, and then reinfused into the patient to enhance anti-tumor immune responses[1][2][3].
