Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a theoretical oral combination of **aleglitazar**, a balanced dual peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha/gamma (PPAR-α/γ) agonist, and **lisinopril**, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. Aleglitazar was developed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and associated cardiovascular/renal risks, working by improving glycemic control and lipid profiles via PPAR-α/γ activation. Lisinopril lowers blood pressure and exerts renal/cardiovascular protection by inhibiting the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, thereby reducing vasoconstriction and aldosterone-mediated sodium retention. To date, there is no evidence in the scientific literature or regulatory databases that a fixed-dose or co-formulated combination of aleglitazar and lisinopril has been developed, approved, or marketed.
