Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ALETA-005 is a discovery-stage CAR-T cell engager (CTE) protein developed by Aleta Biotherapeutics for use alongside B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) CAR T-cell therapy in the treatment of advanced multiple myeloma. The drug contains the same BCMA target protein recognized by approved BCMA CAR T-cell therapeutics and is linked to multiple myeloma antigen-binding domains. Its mechanism involves presenting multiple binding sites for BCMA CAR T-cells on tumor cells, thereby optimally stimulating their cytotoxic activity against multiple myeloma cells. This approach aims to enhance the effectiveness of existing BCMA-targeted CAR T therapies by increasing tumor cell recognition and killing[1][2][5][8].
