Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Alevatrix is a novel, long-acting injectable formulation of bupivacaine, a well-characterized local anesthetic. It utilizes Rebel Medicine's proprietary extended-release matrix technology to provide sustained drug release at the site of administration for up to 72–96 hours following surgery. The primary goal of Alevatrix is to reduce or eliminate the need for opioids in post-operative pain management by delivering prolonged non-opioid analgesia with a favorable safety profile. Preclinical studies have demonstrated robust multi-day pain relief and good tolerability, and clinical trials are underway to assess its efficacy and safety in surgical patients[1][2][3][4][7][9].
