Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Alevicyn SG is a prescription topical dermatological spray gel developed by Sonoma Pharmaceuticals (formerly Oculus Innovative Sciences) using its proprietary Microcyn Technology. The product's active ingredient is hypochlorous acid (HOCl), a naturally occurring molecule used by the immune system to combat pathogens. Alevicyn SG is FDA-cleared for the management and relief of burning, itching, and pain associated with various dermatoses, including atopic dermatitis (eczema) and radiation dermatitis. It is also indicated for the care of first- and second-degree burns and for pre- and post-procedure skin management, such as in skin cancer procedures. As a non-steroidal and non-antibiotic alternative, it helps maintain a moist wound environment and possesses broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against clinically relevant organisms.
