Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Alfagaba is a fixed-dose combination medication manufactured by Med Manor Organics, primarily indicated for the treatment of neuropathic pain, including diabetic neuropathy and peripheral neuropathy. It contains three active ingredients: gabapentin, alpha-lipoic acid, and methylcobalamin. Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant that acts as a ligand for the alpha-2-delta auxiliary subunits of voltage-gated calcium channels, reducing the release of excitatory neurotransmitters and calming overactive nerves. Alpha-lipoic acid is a potent antioxidant and mitochondrial cofactor that helps reduce oxidative stress and protect nerve tissues. Methylcobalamin is an active coenzyme form of vitamin B12 that supports nerve regeneration and myelin sheath synthesis by acting as a cofactor for methionine synthase. Together, these components work synergistically to alleviate neuropathic pain and promote nerve repair.
