ALG-000184 + carbamazepine

ALG-000184 + carbamazepine is a hypothetical combination of two drugs: ALG-000184, an investigational oral small molecule capsid assembly modulator developed as a prodrug of ALG-001075 for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, and carbamazepine, an established oral small molecule anticonvulsant commonly used for epilepsy, neuropathic pain, and bipolar disorder. ALG-000184 functions by inhibiting HBV capsid assembly, suppressing viral DNA replication and protein production required for infection, and has shown substantial antiviral activity in clinical trials. Carbamazepine acts mainly by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels in neuronal membranes, stabilizing hyperexcited nerve cells and inhibiting repetitive firing. No clinical or preclinical data exists on the combination of these two agents, and no approved or investigational fixed combination product of ALG-000184 with carbamazepine has been identified as of September 2025[1][3][5][6].
