Algavak M is an inactivated whole-virus vaccine developed by the Russian company Vector-BiAlgam for the prevention of hepatitis A. It contains 50 ELISA units of inactivated hepatitis A virus (HAV) antigen per dose, adsorbed onto aluminum hydroxide (0.5 mg) which serves as an adjuvant. The vaccine is produced in accordance with international GMP standards and is formulated without antibiotics or preservatives. Administered via intramuscular injection, a full course of vaccination induces long-term specific immunity in 90-95% of recipients. It was officially registered in the Russian State Register of Medicinal Products in 2011 and is utilized in Russia and several CIS countries.
