Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Algorex is a therapeutic product line developed by Amnol Chimica Biologica, specifically indicated for phlebological conditions such as chronic venous insufficiency, heavy legs, and localized edema. The formulation is available as a topical cream and an oral supplement. The cream typically contains a synergistic blend of escin, bromelain, Boswellia serrata, and heparin sodium. Escin, a triterpene saponin from horse chestnut, acts as a vasoprotective agent by decreasing capillary permeability and increasing venous tone. Bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme that aids in the breakdown of fibrin and the reduction of inflammatory edema. Boswellia serrata extract provides anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) enzyme, thereby reducing the production of pro-inflammatory leukotrienes. Heparin sodium provides localized anticoagulant effects, assisting in the resolution of micro-clots and hematomas. Together, these ingredients provide a synergistic approach to treating heavy legs, edema, and venous congestion.
