Alhydran

Alhydran is a medical moisturizing gel-cream developed by BAP Medical for the management of compromised skin and scar tissue. Its formulation is primarily based on freshly processed *Aloe vera* barbadensis gel, combined with occlusive ingredients like cetearyl alcohol and various fatty acids. The product functions by restoring the skin's moisture balance through a dual action: providing deep hydration to the stratum corneum and creating an occlusive layer that reduces transepidermal water loss (TEWL). It is clinically indicated for the treatment of scars resulting from burns, surgical procedures, and chronic wounds, as well as for the relief of associated symptoms such as itching, redness, and pain. Alhydran is frequently used in professional burn centers and dermatology clinics as a non-invasive alternative or supplement to silicone therapy.
