Alisol G (25-anhydroalisol A) is a natural protostane-type triterpene isolated from the rhizomes of *Alisma orientalis* (Rhizoma Alismatis). It is primarily investigated as a research compound for its diverse pharmacological properties. Mechanistically, it has been shown to inhibit human carboxylesterase 2 (hCE2) and modulate several metabolic and signaling pathways, including the AMPK/ACC/SREBP-1c pathway for anti-obesity effects and the RARα-PPARγ-CD36 cascade for reducing hepatic lipid accumulation. Additionally, it exhibits anti-cancer activity by inactivating PI3K/Akt signaling in colorectal cancer cells and possesses antibacterial properties against Gram-positive bacteria. It is currently not approved for clinical use and is utilized only in preclinical research.
