Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Alivet FA is a multi-symptom combination pharmaceutical product developed and marketed by Megat Pharmaceutical in Ecuador for the treatment of the common cold and flu. It is formulated as coated tablets containing four active ingredients: acetaminophen (650 mg), pseudoephedrine hydrochloride (30 mg), dextromethorphan hydrobromide (20 mg), and chlorpheniramine maleate (4 mg). Acetaminophen provides analgesic and antipyretic effects, pseudoephedrine acts as a nasal decongestant, dextromethorphan serves as an antitussive to suppress dry cough, and chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine that relieves allergic-like symptoms such as sneezing and watery eyes. The product is positioned within the primary care segment for the symptomatic relief of respiratory infections accompanied by congestion and non-productive cough.
