Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ALK-depot SQ 510 Milbenmischung is a subcutaneous allergen immunotherapy (SCIT) product developed by ALK-Abelló. It consists of a standardized mixture of purified natural allergens from two house dust mite species, *Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus* and *Dermatophagoides farinae*, in equal proportions. The allergens are adsorbed onto aluminum hydroxide, which acts as an adjuvant to provide a depot effect, allowing for gradual release and prolonged immune stimulation. The product is indicated for the treatment of IgE-mediated house dust mite allergy and has been investigated in Phase 3 clinical trials for the treatment of atopic dermatitis in adults with proven sensitization to house dust mites. The therapy involves a dose-escalation phase followed by a maintenance phase, aiming to induce immunological tolerance and reduce allergic symptoms.
