Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ALK Soluprick cat dander extract (commercially known as Soluprick SQ Felis domesticus) is a standardized allergen extract of cat dander (*Felis domesticus*) developed and manufactured by ALK-Abelló. It is designed for skin prick testing (SPT) to diagnose IgE-mediated allergic sensitization to cat allergens. The extract contains a mixture of cat allergen proteins, including the major cat allergen Fel d 1. When applied to the skin via a prick test, the extract interacts with IgE antibodies bound to mast cells in the skin, triggering a localized wheal-and-flare reaction in sensitized individuals. In clinical trials, such as those evaluating investigational cat allergy vaccines (e.g., Angany's Fel d 1 vaccine), it is commonly utilized as a reference or comparator product to assess skin allergenicity and safety.
