Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Alkagin is a line of intimate hygiene and topical soothing products developed by Istituto Ganassini, formulated with a synergistic blend of botanical extracts including *Calendula officinalis*, *Malva sylvestris*, and *Tilia cordata*. These extracts provide anti-inflammatory, emollient, and protective properties, making Alkagin effective for alleviating symptoms of localized irritation, redness, and pruritus in the vulvar and vaginal areas. It is commonly used to manage discomfort associated with menopause, post-partum recovery, or as an adjunct in the treatment of vulvovaginitis. Some formulations, such as Alkagin Active, also include chlorhexidine to provide an antiseptic effect against a range of pathogens. The product line is designed to restore physiological comfort and maintain the integrity of the mucous membranes by providing a soothing barrier and supporting a healthy pH balance.
