Overview
Alkalol Nasal Wash is an over-the-counter (OTC) hypertonic saline nasal rinse developed and manufactured by The Alkalol Company, which has produced the solution since 1896. The product is formulated as a mucus solvent and nasal irrigant, containing a proprietary blend of natural extracts and essential oils, including eucalyptol, menthol, thymol, camphor, and benzoin, alongside salts such as sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate. Its mechanism of action is primarily mechanical and chemical; it dissolves and loosens thick nasal mucus while cleansing and moisturizing the nasal passages. It is indicated for nasal hygiene, sinus irrigation, and the relief of nasal congestion and irritation caused by sinusitis, allergies, colds, and post-nasal drip.
