Overview

Alkotinib is an orally available small molecule inhibitor targeting multiple kinases, most notably the receptor tyrosine kinase anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) and c-ros oncogene 1 (ROS1). It binds to and inhibits both wild-type and mutant forms of ALK and ROS1—including fusion proteins—thereby blocking downstream signaling pathways involved in tumor cell proliferation and survival. Alkotinib has demonstrated potential antineoplastic activity in preclinical models. The drug was developed by Suzhou Zelgen Biopharmaceuticals primarily for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with ALK or ROS1 alterations[1][2][3].
