All-trans retinoic acid + clobetasol propionate

All-trans retinoic acid + clobetasol propionate is a topical combination therapy used primarily for the treatment of psoriasis vulgaris and other corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses. All-trans retinoic acid (tretinoin) is a derivative of vitamin A that modulates gene expression by activating retinoic acid receptors, promoting cell differentiation and reducing hyperproliferation of keratinocytes. Clobetasol propionate is a highly potent synthetic corticosteroid that acts as an agonist at glucocorticoid receptors, leading to anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects. The combination has demonstrated efficacy in improving erythema, infiltration, scaling of skin lesions, and overall PASI scores in patients with mild-to-moderate psoriasis vulgaris[5].
