Overview

Alleance (atropine sulfate 0.01%) is an ophthalmic solution developed by Laboratorios Sophia S.A. de C.V. specifically to delay the progression of myopia and axial ocular elongation in children. As a small molecule antimuscarinic agent, it works by non-selectively antagonizing muscarinic acetylcholine receptors in the eye, which is thought to inhibit the signaling pathways that lead to excessive eye growth. It is currently being evaluated in Phase III clinical trials (such as NCT06389110) for use in pediatric patients aged 3 to 12 years, administered as a once-daily nocturnal drop.
