Aluminium hydroxide-adsorbed allergoid preparation of birch pollen allergens is a subcutaneous allergen-specific immunotherapy (SCIT) developed by Allergopharma. It consists of chemically modified (allergoid) allergens from birch pollen (*Betula verrucosa*) adsorbed onto an aluminium hydroxide adjuvant. The chemical modification, typically achieved through treatment with formaldehyde or glutaraldehyde, reduces the IgE-binding capacity of the allergens (lowering the risk of IgE-mediated side effects) while preserving T-cell epitopes necessary for inducing immunological tolerance. It is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe IgE-mediated seasonal allergic rhinitis, allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, and mild allergic asthma triggered by birch pollen.
