Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Allergyl is a nasal powder spray used for the prevention and relief of allergic rhinitis symptoms, including hay fever and allergies to dust mites or animal dander. It is composed of high-quality, natural cellulose powder of vegetable origin and peppermint powder. When administered intranasally, the powder reacts with the moisture on the nasal mucosa to form a thin, colorless, gel-like protective film. This physical layer acts as a mechanical barrier that traps airborne allergens before they can penetrate the nasal tissue and trigger an inflammatory response. As a drug-free, non-systemic treatment, Allergyl does not cause side effects such as drowsiness or dry mouth and is suitable for use by adults, children, and pregnant or breastfeeding women. It is distributed in the Austrian market by Germania Pharmazeutika.
