Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AllerPops is a prebiotic supplement developed by AllerPops Corp, formulated as lozenges or lollipops to support oral microbiome health and alleviate symptoms of allergic rhinitis. The product contains a blend of natural food ingredients, including sugars, amino acids, fibers, and salts, which act as prebiotics to nourish beneficial oral bacteria such as *Fusobacterium*, *Butyrivibrio*, and *Peptostreptococcus*. These bacteria produce short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) that are hypothesized to modulate the immune system and address 'Oral Probiotic Deficiency Syndrome' (OPDS). While marketed as a consumer health product, it has been studied in a Phase II clinical trial for sustained allergy relief and modulation of the oral microbiota.
