Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Allervax Cat is an investigational **peptide-based allergy immunotherapy vaccine** developed by ImmuLogic Pharmaceutical for **cat allergy**. The product consists of **two synthetic 27-amino-acid polypeptides** derived from immunodominant **T-cell epitopes** of the major cat allergen **Fel d 1** and is designed to induce immune tolerance while minimizing IgE cross-linking and immediate hypersensitivity reactions associated with whole-allergen immunotherapy. It was administered by **subcutaneous injection**, typically as a short course of 4 to 8 injections over several weeks, and reached **Phase 3** development, where it showed improvements in pulmonary function and tolerance to cat exposure in cat-allergic patients, although late-onset respiratory adverse events were reported.
