Allii Macrostemonis Bulbus

Allii Macrostemonis Bulbus (AMB) is a traditional Chinese medicine derived from the dried bulbs of *Allium macrostemon* Bunge. It is known for its acrid and bitter taste and is attributed to the heart, lung, stomach, and large intestine meridians in traditional Chinese medicine. AMB is used to activate Yang, remove stasis, regulate Qi, and eliminate stagnation. Modern pharmacological studies have shown that AMB possesses anti-platelet aggregation, hypolipidemic, anti-atherosclerotic, cardiomyocyte, vascular endothelial cell protection, anti-cancer, anti-bacterial, anti-asthmatic, and anti-oxidant effects. It is commonly used to treat conditions such as coronary heart disease, angina pectoris, asthma, and diarrhea.
