Allo-aca is a **leptin receptor antagonist peptide** and peptidomimetic, designed to potently and specifically block leptin receptor signaling. It has demonstrated picomolar activity in blocking leptin-induced cellular proliferation and signaling in various in vitro systems, as well as antitumor and anti-angiogenic effects in vivo. Allo-aca inhibits leptin-mediated mitogenesis, chemotaxis, and chemokinesis, and can suppress VEGF-dependent expression and activity, making it a candidate for both oncology (notably triple-negative breast cancer) and ophthalmic neovascular diseases. Its biological activity is mediated by strong binding affinity to the leptin receptor (ObR), rendering it a valuable pharmacological tool and potential therapeutic candidate for diseases driven by leptin signaling.
