alloCART-19 is an allogeneic (universal) chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting the CD19 antigen. Developed by the Children's Hospital of Fudan University, it is designed for the treatment of pediatric patients with relapsed or refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). Unlike autologous CAR-T therapies, which utilize a patient's own cells, alloCART-19 uses T-cells derived from healthy donors. These cells are genetically modified to express a CAR specific for CD19, a protein highly expressed on the surface of malignant B-cells. The therapy is currently being evaluated in a single-center, exploratory Phase 1 clinical trial to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic profile in children.
