Overview

Allochol is a traditional choleretic combination drug widely used in Russia and CIS countries. It contains four active components: dry bile, dry garlic extract, dry nettle leaf extract, and activated charcoal. The drug works by stimulating the secretory function of liver cells, increasing the production and flow of bile (choleretic and cholagogic effects), and improving the motor and secretory activity of the gastrointestinal tract. It also helps reduce fermentation and putrefaction in the intestines through the adsorbent properties of activated charcoal. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of chronic hepatitis, cholangitis, cholecystitis, and habitual constipation associated with intestinal atony.
