Overview

Allogeneic γδ T cells (Chinese PLA General Hospital) is an adoptive cellular immunotherapy consisting of gamma delta (γδ) T cells derived from healthy donors. Unlike conventional αβ T cells, γδ T cells recognize antigens in a non-MHC-restricted manner, typically responding to phosphoantigens and stress-induced ligands (such as MICA/B) frequently expressed on malignant cells. This allows for "off-the-shelf" use without the high risk of graft-versus-host disease (GvHD). The therapy is being evaluated by the Chinese PLA General Hospital for the treatment of various malignant solid tumors and B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma, either as a monotherapy or in combination with standard treatments, to leverage the cells' natural cytotoxicity and cytokine-secreting capabilities.
