Overview

This cell-based regenerative therapy, developed by the Medical University of Warsaw, consists of allogeneic adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADSCs) suspended in a fibrin gel matrix for the treatment of chronic wounds in diabetic foot syndrome. The therapy, often referred to in clinical contexts as 1ABC Therapy, involves applying the ADSC-fibrin suspension directly onto the prepared wound bed, where it polymerizes into a thin gel layer. The ADSCs function by secreting a variety of pro-angiogenic and anti-inflammatory cytokines and growth factors, which modulate the chronic wound microenvironment to promote tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and accelerate epithelialization in patients with diabetic foot ulcers.
